You can talk to your doctor about your hemorrhoid issues. Yes, it may be embarrassing but you need to keep in mind that your doctor is a trained professional who deals with things often far more embarrassing than hemorrhoids. Your doctor may suggest that you treat the hemorrhoids with a topical cream or ointment, that you increase the fiber in you’re diet and water intake and that if pain persist then you can take regular pain medication.

Another suggestion from your doctor in treatment could be to shrink hemorrhoids. This is done in two different ways and I thought I would list them. In the case of external hemorrhoids (those that you can touch and see around the anus) one method to shrink hemorrhoids would be the procedure of Infra-red Photo-coagulation. This involves aiming an infra red light at the hemorrhoids, causing it to clot (coagulate) the swollen veins of the hemorrhoid. This can successfully shrink hemorrhoids as the blood will no longer flow to the clotted blood vessels.

The other option to shrink hemorrhoids is with a new procedure called Laser Coagulation. This will successfully shrink hemorrhoids too, by applying an electrical current to the hemorrhoid. The current is delivered via a probe and works to shut down the blood supply to the area which in turn can shrink hemorrhoids.

Having suffered from hemorrhoids for a couple of years, I reached the point where I decided I had to do SOMETHING. I wasn’t going to go see a doctor (someone probing around down there?
